The Port of Saguenay and the Port of Aalborg in Denmark sign a collaboration agreement focused on innovation and sustainability best practices

June 14th, 2022

The Port of Saguenay and the Port of Aalborg, a city located to the north of Denmark, concluded on June 13 2022 a collaboration and twinning agreement aimed to promote knowledge sharing and mutual exchanges on innovations technologies and best practices within the maritime and industrial port industry. The signature of this partnership is a first of its kind in the history of the Port de Saguenay.

This twinning between the two organizations stems from the desire of the Port of Saguenay to draw inspiration from the best examples of sustainable development within the maritime industry as part of the responsible growth of its activities and the development of its industrial-port area. The choice of the Port of Aalborg was therefore a natural choice since the latter enjoys a great reputation internationally in terms of sustainable development and innovation

In addition, the two organizations share many common characteristics, being in particular both located on a river, near an urban center of equivalent size and being surrounded by a vast booming industrial-port area offering complete intermodality between road, rail and maritime transport. They also share the advantage of having a university recognized for its expertise in sustainable development.
